A Description

In early 2008 I began a novel. It all started with an abundance of intricate details and a back story that would make your eyes glaze over with ennui, topped off by the fragments of a soul-searching character who had not been fully formed, even in my mind. Since then the story has gone on long hiatuses--sometimes over a year--but it is truly something I strive to improve as often as possible.

This is the story of a story. You know the old philosophy about setting a goal for yourself: you double your chances of success when you tell other people about it. I've told the world I'm writing, vaguely. I've told acquaintances that it's a novel. A cluster of friends know how many words I've put down, or have read bits and pieces. But just a handful of people are aware of the journey this story has taken.

It's just the story of a girl, trying to survive--indeed, convincing herself that survival is worth the struggle. If you want to know more than that, you'll just have to wait and see.

I don't know how quickly I want to get published--because, of course, that's my goal... right?--just that I do want to get published "at some time." I know that if this truly means so much to me, that it is a significant plot point in my own life, I need to share it. I need to tell  people  you about it.
